Lets Stand with our States and Communities - Enforce Immigration Laws

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Ted Poe (TX-02) filed a Resolution expressing the sense of the Congress that State and local governments should be supported for taking actions to discourage illegal immigration and that legislation should be enacted to ease the burden on State and local governments for taking such actions.

Numerous state legislatures, county commissions, and city councils throughout America are being forced to introduce local legislation to discourage illegal immigration because of years of failure by our federal government to secure the nations borders or enforce immigration laws, said Poe. These states and communities are on the front lines in addressing the societal costs and effects due to illegal immigration. Lets stand with our states and communities in their efforts and call on the federal government to enforce existing immigration laws and pass new legislation to enhance border security to ease the burdens placed on them.

Among localities across the country that have taken measures to fight illegal immigration include: the State of Arizona, State of Colorado, State of Tennessee, State of Michigan, State of Pennsylvania, State of Virginia, Farmers Branch, TX, Hazelton, PA, Nashville, TN, Valley Park, MO, Escondido, CA, Herndon, VA, Suffolk County, New York.
